Question

Recovering deleted data from a Memory Card.

Answer

Memory Card File Rescue will assist in recovering photographs and other files stored on Sony Memory Card media.

This software supports recovery of JPG (DCF), MPEG-1, MP4 (MPEG-4, MPEG-4 AVC), AVCHD file and other types of files, except:

  • Game data, and content-protected music and movies

Note:

  • This software analyzes FAT file system and recovers a file on a memory card regardless of file format where possible.
  • We do not guarantee a recovery of all data. Some file may not be recoverable due to its data status.
  • Recovered files will be stored in PC.
  • If, after accidental file deletion or accidental formatting, files have been copied to or from the Memory Card media or it has been used in a device, the likelihood of successful file recovery decreases.
  • When a Full Format (rather than a Quick Format) was performed on the Memory Card media, files cannot be recovered.

IMPORTANT:

  • Do not remove the Memory Card during the recovery process.
  • Depending on the condition of the data, retrieval may no longer be possible.
  • Operation of this software has been verified only for Sony Memory Card.
When using media from other manufacturers, correct operation of this software is not assured.
  • Folder structure is not preserved after recovery.
Memory Card File Rescue will not restore the original folder structure.
  • File name is different after recovery.
The original file name often cannot be fully restored.
If the original file name was 8 characters or shorter, successful recovery of the file name is more likely.
