Great general purpose lens. Not the fastest - but it cover a good range, produces good quality photos. It's a great general purpose travel lens

I bought this as a general purpose lens. It works well for landscape, street, travel and people photography when I don’t want to carry several lenses. So far I have been very pleased with the results.

I find the FE 24–105mm F4 G OSS lens to be very versatile and ideal for travelling. The wide-angle to zoom range offers excellent coverage for various shooting situations, from landscapes to portraits. Overall, I simply love the lens and enjoy using it.

Very happy with the lens, a prefect partner for the 7CR that I recently purchased, I suspect that it will be the day to day lens for the camera.

Having used Canon - an APS-C one - and Olympus cameras - Micro 4/3 - I wanted to move on to full frame and the A7 iv was the chosen item. It came as body only and there came the dilemma, which first lens to buy. It seemed that the 24-105 was highly rated by many on YouTube and independent reviews for its ease of use, the versatility - wide to short telephoto - but more than that, the image quality. I’ve only started using it in the last 10 days whilst learning the functions of the new camera and I have to agree that this is a GREAT first lens

I wanted a mid-range zoom lens with more reach than my 28-70 f2.8 GM II but I didn't want to lose quality; after a lot of research I chose the 24-105 f4 and the results are outstanding - image quality and colour are exceptional, the lens is relatively light and compact and in both full-frame and APS-C mode produces results that, if I didn't know, could have been from my 28-70 lens. This is a super lens.

Great lens. I've been using this lens for a couple years. Although it isn't a 2.8mm, it reaches further than the 28-70mm. That extra reach means everything to me.

I ran some rough tests on the Sony FE 24-105 f/4 G at 24mm, 50mm and 105mm using a basic lens chart with an A7RII shooting RAW. Wow, what a lens! It out-performs pretty much every 35mm film zoom I've ever owned, and many of the primes, especially wide angles. This lens does exhibit some light and resolution falloff in the corners wide open, but was cleared up by f/5.6-f/8. Except strangely at 24mm, light falloff diminished at f/5.6, returned in the far corners at f/8, then disappeared again at f/11. Through the range of focal-lengths, I found the sweet spot to be f/5.6 to f/11. At f/16, diffraction is held back amazingly well, and though f/22 shows some diffraction degradation on the chart images, in real world shots it can be tolerable due to the outstanding sharpness and contrast characteristics of this lens. I don't know how much correction was done in the camera, but CA is nil. And I didn't see any noticeable barrel or pincushion distortion. Reviews I'd read suggested the lens was good, so once I got it, it was immediately pressed into service shooting products before I'd tested it. And I was astounded. Images held together as I progressively stopped down to catch details through depth-of-field. Shooting at around 75mm, working as high as f/18, even into f/20, real-world details were captured without apparent diffraction and post-production sharpening wasn't necessary. And the lens focuses very close, making a lens change unnecessary for smaller items. Though I'm mostly a tripod guy, it performed very well while playing around with it hand-held. It didn't have a problem focusing in home-level lighting. The stabilization worked well, though I'll admit I have the ISO turned way up when snap-shooting. But I do like its switches for stabilization and focus so I don't have to hunt around or remember where I programmed which control, when I put it back on the tripod. Can't really say anything bad about this lens. I'm used to manual focus lenses, or little micro four-thirds cameras, so it seems big to me, but this lens is full-format, and with all those gears and motors inside for stability and focusing, that's understandable. And it takes a large, telephoto-sized filter, but 77mm is not crazy-big and at least the lens doesn't require some oddball internal filter. So even those factors are okay. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the Sony FE 24-105 F/4 and from what I've experienced with it so far, it could just be one of those lenses that becomes legendary.

I bought this lens to fit in between my 12 - 24 and 100 - 400 lenses and what a great addition it is. The overall quality is outstanding and being an F4 it is great for both indoor and outdoor shooting. If you are in the market for a 24 - 105 lens, I would highly recommend this lens.

This lens covers the perfect focal length range for landscape photography. The constant f4 aperture is good for low light photography and more that enough for the typical f8 - f11 range which gives the DoF required for landscapes. Sharpness and lack of any significant distortion are excellent at all focal lengths.

Reliable all around run and gun lens, works, great build quality. Expensive for what it is but the best option for an all-around lens.

I did lots of research before purchasing the sony FE 24 -105 F4 G OSS Lens for my SOny A7 II. I wanted one lens on my camera body all the time that I can use for landscapes, street photography and portraits and this lens covers all these scenarios really well. The Quality is superb , you can tell its professional grade

I've had this lens now for about 3 weeks, and mostly the UK weather has prevented me from using it. From my experience, (EX PRO), it seems so far to be good, and worth the money. I expect to get better results than this too, as soon as I get the chance.

An absolutely brilliant all round lens, ideally suited as an excellent travel lens or days out with the family. Easy to hand hold even at full zoom, and still get pin sharp results.

I bought the A7 IV Camera and was looking for a lens that would cover a broad zoom range to prevent carrying multiple lenses. This Lens fits the bill perfectly. It is perfect for the landscape photos that I tend to take. It’s well balanced on the camera and is neither too bulky or heavy.

A great all round general use lens for the amateur to pro. One of the best mid zoom len on the market. You cant go wrong starting with this lens on your new Sony camera!

This a logical, economical first step into the world of Sony mirrorless. The focal length is perfect for a “walking around” lens. It’s got the sharpness to produce very acceptable results without the cost of GM lenes.

I bought this camera a few years ago. I have been happy with the quality of the lens and the usefulness of its's use. I mostly use it at the 70mm length as it is best for me at that range.

I purchased this Lens in March 24 and it has not been off my camera yet, I am loving it. It is quiet and fast in focusing and the quality is second to none, it is also fantastic in low light situations

This lens is very smooth and very fast focus. This lens is very robust and great build. The pictures are very sharp and crisp.

Bought this as I wanted a lens with a bit more reach than the 24-70 (I had the 18-135 APSC lens before) and thought this was a good balance of size, cost and range. Very happy with this lens as it is sharper than my old lens and brighter than it too, without breaking the bank

The Sony FE 24-105 f4 G Lerns is the perfect companion for my Sony a7r iv. Excellent focal range. And when needed, a higher ISO eliminates the need for an aperture wider than F4. For travel or street photography, it's the only lens you need.

I had a kit lens and upgraded to the SEL24105G OSS. What a difference in clarity, sharpness, and just a great range for carry around daily. Took it to Grand Canyon and Arches National Park this spring. I could not be more pleased with the performance. Weight is good, zoom is smooth and with just enough resistance, and manual focus is spot on!

Transferring into a full frame camera and this F4, 24-104 lens makes taking photos a joy. Whether it is a deer on the far side of the field or a hibiscus blooming on my balcony, they both are sharp and just right.

Purchased as a first lens to go with my A7iv and what a lens. Super sharp right out to the corners at all apertures. It is a bit slow at F4 but still manageable to hold at 1/20th shutter due to the camera and lens built in stabilisation. Quite pricey for a F4 lens, but you are buying sony quality with a range of 24-105mm its a great all purpose lens which rarely comes off my camera.

Only had it for a couple of weeks but seems to pair with A7iv very well

As the title says, it is OK without being great and a few levels down from the primes I've got. It is also a bit reluctant to autofocus in low light. Not really worth the money, sadly.

I bought this lens with the A7IV camera body having moved from Fujifilm. I never felt that the images from the Fujifilm 16-80 were really sharp, a bit soft, but the images from this lens are really sharp through the focal length. This lens gives me the same focal length that I had but it's in a different league and am really pleased with the images. Would have liked it to be lighter but it feels really balanced on the camera. Will be a great travel lens for my next holiday as I am only taking 1 lens and body, so ideal combination.

The lens is my go to for day to day shooting, from hiking, landscape and animal photography to everyday pics. They range allows me to grab one lens and go rather than carrying several lenses.

Have been a photographer for over 50 years and Sony Alpha convert for 11. I was let down with delivery of 24-70 GM and bought this instead. I was taking photos at my son's wedding with a bagful of lenses and didn't take it off the body. It has a perfect range of zoom, takes crystal sharp images and is small and balanced with the A1. I'm beginning to think now that with the image quality at higher ISO, the benefit of F2.8 vs F4 is almost non-existent with an appreciable weight disadvantage. The quality of build of this G lens is identical to the GMs I have. I cannot praise it more highly

Great and versatile lens for any situation by far. Using it on a6400 and a7m4, truly made the photography experience up another notch. Fast auto focus and manual focus ring is quick with good sensitivity and it has quite a short stroke for a long focal length. A lot lighter than Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art which is quite surprising with shorter focal length. Will be amazing if it can be like 200-600 G OSS inner zoom!

A great all round camera lens, the 24-105 is ideal for me and the fact its not a 2.8 is immaterial to me.

Thought about this lens for a while then took advantage of the trade in promotion and have not looked back since. So far picture quality very sound and the inclusion of the steadyshot switch on the lens is so much better than touring the menus.

Bought in the last few weeks, not had much use yet but so far as I have used it for a few snap shots, performance has been good, easy to use, well balanced in my A7IV, it’s early days but I think it’s going to stay on for a while.
