Sound Bar - HDMI - [TV + Sound Bar]
- The terminal locations can vary depending on your Sound Bar system, so be sure to check the operating instructions for more details. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- For some models, you might need to adjust the Sound Bar settings to "TV" after making the connection. Refer to the operating instructions for guidance on using your Sound Bar system.
- If your Sound Bar includes a Subwoofer, try not to place items on top of it. Subwoofers create vibrations, and anything placed on top may fall.
- If your TV and Sound Bar have HDMI input terminals that support the Audio Return Channel (eARC/ARC) feature, those terminals will be labeled eARC/ARC.
HDMI cable connection using the eARC/ARC feature
- A: HDMI IN (eARC/ARC)
- B: HDMI cable
- C: HDMI OUT (eARC/ARC)

Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI jacks labeled eARC/ARC:
- Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI jacks labeled eARC/ARC:
- On the back of your TV, find the HDMI IN jack (A) labeled eARC/ARC.
- On the back of your Soundbar, find the HDMI OUT jack (C) labeled eARC/ARC.
- Connect both jacks with the HDMI cable (B).
Note: To use the eARC feature, an ethernet-compatible HDMI cable is required.
Hint: If the devices are connected to HDMI jacks without eARC/ARC, no sound will be output from the Soundbar. For details about the eARC or ARC features, refer to the What is the Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature? article.

- The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select Sound → Speakers → Audio system
- Open the
- Set the BRAVIA Sync control to On.
Note: If your TV is other than a BRAVIA, refer to the instruction manual supplied with your TV to search the settings related to the HDMI CEC function and set it to On. - Turn on the Control for HDMI setting on both the TV and the audio system.
If HDMI terminals on your TV and Sound Bar do not have the ARC label
If your TV and Sound Bar do not have HDMI terminals that support ARC, connect them using another method.
