Why can't a Memory Stick that is formatted from the Format menu of My Computer or Windows Explorerbe used normally sometimes?
Formatting of the Memory Stick has to be performed with a dedicated device or software. For example, to use a Memory Stick with a portable player or a Digital Still Camera, the Memory Stick has to be formatted with the respective equipment. This applies to MagicGate Memory Stick as well.
To format a Memory Stick using Memory Stick Formatter of the VAIO computer, please follow the steps below:
1. Click Start, point to Programs, Memory Stick Utility and click Memory Stick Formatter.

3. In Drive List of the Memory Stick Formatter window, select a Memory Stick drive and click Start Format.
