Why do the English characters appear faint and patchy?
When fonts such as Times New Roman, Century and Arial are used, the English characters appear faint or patchy.
This symptom occurs due to the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts option which is selected as the default settings.
To avoid this symptom, disable the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts option with the steps below:
1. Start Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Themes and click Display.
3. Click the Appearance tab and click Effects.
4. Disable the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts option.
5. Click OK.
