The Touch Tracking function on my Sony camera is unavailable.
The Touch Tracking function may be disabled under certain setting conditions.
Below are examples of cases where the Touch Tracking function becomes unavailable for each camera model. Please check your settings accordingly.
For ILCE series, ZV-E series, and DSC-RX1RM3
Touch Tracking is unavailable when:
- Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus in still image shooting mode
- Using Smart Zoom, Clear Image Zoom, or Digital Zoom in still image shooting mode
- Bright Monitoring is active
Note: On some models, if the focus mode is switched to Manual Focus while Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking in still image shooting mode, the setting for Touch Func. in Shooting will be changed to Touch Focus.
For Compact Cameras (DSC-RX series (excluding DSC-RX1RM3), ZV series, etc.)
Touch Tracking is unavailable when:
- Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus or DMF
- Using Smart Zoom, Clear Image Zoom, or Digital Zoom
- Scene Selection is set to Hand-held Twilight or Anti Motion Blur
- Using Smart Telecon.
- Subject Detection under Face/Eye AF Set. is set to Animal
- File Format is set to XAVC S 4K and Proxy Recording is set to On
- File Format is set to XAVC S 4K and outputting a movie via HDMI
- Shooting mode is set to Sweep Panorama
- SteadyShot is set to Intelligent Active in movie mode
- Shooting movies with Record Setting set to 120p/100p
Note: On some models, if the focus mode is switched to Manual Focus while Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking in still image shooting mode, the setting for Touch Func. in Shooting will be changed to Touch Focus.
For Video Cameras (ILME series, etc.)
Touch Tracking is unavailable when:
- Focus Mode is set to Manual Focus
- Using Smart Zoom, Clear Image Zoom, or Digital Zoom
Note: On some models, if the focus mode is switched to Manual Focus while Touch Func. in Shooting is set to Touch Tracking, the setting for Touch Func. in Shooting will be changed to Touch Focus.
