How to troubleshoot sound issues?

1. Restart the computer.
2.  Check the system volume to make sure the volume is not muted or too low . 
3. Select a  Windows Sound Scheme .
4.  Reinstall the sound drivers .
5.  Resolve all conflicts in Device Manager .
6. Remove all peripheral hardware to see if it is conflicting with the sound card.
