2010 BRAVIA Collection Introduces Sony’s New Design Philosophy
The graceful art of making your presence acknowledged, while still blending in your environment. The triumph of space effectively harnessed, and not simply filled. The beauty achieved when a work of art makes a statement, without disturbing space.

This is Tatazumai, the inspiration behind the 2010 BRAVIA Collection. The manifestation of this spirit is the Monolithic Design concept infused the new BRAVIA models introduced, underscored in the three themes present throughout the range.
The first theme, or the On/Off Conscious, enables viewers to be enlivened by an extraordinary spectacle when the BRAVIA is turned on, while being enamored by a gorgeous single surface when the BRAVIA is turned off. The second theme, or Upward Style, allows the screen to recline the TV at a 6° angle – giving you the impression of the TV looking towards you, while adding a sense of space to your room. The final theme, or Contrast of Material, proves that harmony is possible – and even enhanced – by difference in inherent characteristics.
Guided by the philosophy of Tatazumai, artist Kidlat de Guia rendered different interpretations of the Filipino home as a concept, combining indigenous, raw materials with the advanced technological inspiration of the BRAVIA. “I played around with textures and surfaces, exploring different materials, to bring out contrast and unity,” said de Guia. “Tatazumai is about duality, about standing about, and yet being part of the whole.”
His artworks were showcased along with the 2010 BRAVIA Collection, launched to a gathering of Philippine media at the exclusive Shangri-la Boracay Resort and Spa. The activity was conceptualized as a renaissance not just for the BRAVIA, but for television in general.
“We wanted to make 2010 the year we dramatically altered the trends that have defined television design in the current market,” said Mr. Takashi Kozu, Vice-President for Marketing, Sony Philippines. “Motivated by our corporate vision to make.believe and give substance to the dreams of the future, we sought to bring televisions to a new recognition, by seeing their essence as more than just electronic products, but as pieces of art at home.” But aside from setting new standards of artistry, the 2010 BRAVIA Collection continues Sony’s thrust of technological breakthrough adapting to the various needs of consumers. Whatever model you choose, there is a BRAVIA to ensure that your entertainment experience is nothing short of a dream come true.
