They are fitted with Silicon X-tal (Crystal) Reflective Display (SXRD™) chip, which allows them to deliver full HD. Full HD televisions are a step above HD quality television because they deliver 2 mega pixel resolution.

“The full HD technology of these two new models is made possible by panels with Sony's proprietary technologies: the SXRD™ chip, Cinema Black Pro, and the BRAVIA Engine,“ explained Balao. “SXRD™ technology makes 2 mega pixel resolution possible. Picture quality is smooth and dot-less, response time is fast, and a myriad of hues is expressed due to Live Color Creation. The SXRD chip works together with the Advanced Iris to create a feature called the Cinema Black Pro, which produces exceptionally high contrast ratio of up to 10,000:1 (the brightest image is 10,000 times brighter than the darkest image). Lastly, the unique BRAVIA Engine high definition signal processing converts analogue inputs to digital with minimized loss in picture quality and reduced video 'noise' during conversion. Furthermore, with its Picture enhancement feature, you are assured that even if you are just watching a program in standard signals, the picture quality is improved.”

The launch of the BRAVIA SXRD rear projection televisions with full high-definition further expands the market of Sony Philippines into the high-end segment and strengthens its leadership in the television market.
