Combining high performance with green efforts, Sony’s latest BRAVIA range offers Motionflow 120Hz, new BRAVIA Engine 3, Live Colour, and energy-saving intelligent sensors

 

 

(Manila, Philippines – May 20, 2009) – Expanding its range of Full High Definition (HD) LCD TVs, Sony Philippines introduces four new BRAVIA line ups; the W550, V550, S550 and S570 Series, to its stable of BRAVIA TVs. Delivering impressive picture quality via BRAVIA Engine 3 image processor and Live Colour, the new BRAVIA range also offers substantial power savings through a variety of environmentally-friendly functions.

The new BRAVIA series is powered by BRAVIA Engine 3 which is able to optimize contrast levels in every scene through real time analysis and display images with amazing depth and clarity. Additionally, colour reproduction and clarity are consistently rendered through proprietary Sony algorithms. Emphasising true-to-life colour reproduction, Live Colour technology allows viewers to watch programmes with vivid colours. Scenes are automatically processed with specially developed algorithms to produce punchy and pronounced colours.

 

Placing importance on conserving the environment, intelligent sensors are incorporated in the new BRAVIA range with the unique ability to help customers save power. One of them is Ambient Light Sensor* which automatically adjusts the brightness of the picture in accordance with the ambient light. Similarly, when used as a PC monitor, the TV automatically switches into standby mode when no input signal from the PC is detected for 30 seconds.

 

Recreating the movie experience in homes is made easy with the new BRAVIA TV series. Featuring 24P True Cinema* technology, the TVs enable automatic recognition of films shot at 24 frames per second format and selects the appropriate imaging standard for playback in film-like motion. Adding stereo to the cinematic atmosphere, the new BRAVIA TVs also feature the S-Force Front Surround* system that delivers a wider listening area for realistic virtual surround sound.  The Voice Zoom* function further maintains the level of ambient surround sound to maximise audio clarity thus enhancing the overall audio experience.

 

Complementary to the BRAVIA Sync-compatible models is hassle-free connectivity to a wide range of Sony home entertainment devices via one remote control. After convenient connection via the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) outlets available, users can switch easily from viewing their movies on their Handycam to enjoying photos taken on their Cyber-shot with the BRAVIA Sync remote function. To navigate through all these devices, users just have to use the intuitive and simple XrossMediaBar (XMB) interface that was made popular by Sony’s family of PlayStation entertainment devices. The interface eliminates the need to look at the remote control while searching and selecting content.

 

 

BRAVIA W550 Series

On the performance front, the BRAVIA W550 Series stands out as it offers premium Motionflow 120Hz technology on top of industry leading technologies by Sony such as BRAVIA Engine 3 and Live Colour technologies. Sony’s unique Motionflow technology enables the display of fast image movements with high precision and smoothness. With Motionflow 120Hz technology, the number of frames created is doubled to 120 frames per second, ensuring images remain sharp, stable and ideal for action-packed programme viewing. 

In addition, the BRAVIA W550 features Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, the ultimate standard in high definition, producing approximately twice the number of pixels compared to WXGA for finer detail, texture and depth in picture quality.

BRAVIA V550 Series

Available in Black, Red and White, the new BRAVIA V550 Series is a stylish looking Full HD LCD TV that has equally stunning features. Like the BRAVIA W550 Series, it offers Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, BRAVIA Engine 3 and Live Colour technologies for sharper, detailed, crispy images with high contrast.

It also includes Intelligent Picture and MPEG Noise Reduction technologies for noise-free, clean images. Boosting connectivity, the BRAVIA V550 Series is equipped with 4 HDMI ports and a USB 2.0 outlet.

BRAVIA S550 Series

Designed to be the entertainment centrepiece of any room, the BRAVIA S550 Series comes in a choice of three colours (Black, Brown and Blue) and sports image quality enhancing features such as BRAVIA Engine 3, Live Colour, Intelligent Picture, MPEG Noise Reduction and FM Radio*.

 

More than just a TV, the S550 Series also offer 24P True Cinema* technology and Picture Frame Mode*, enabling easy switching between the creation of a cinematic experience and an art piece on the wall.

 

BRAVIA S570 Series

An ideal TV for your personal space, the slim and compact 22” BRAVIA S570 Series LCD TV sports a unique roundish look and is available in four stylish colours, [Silver, Green, Pink, and Brown] to match the room’s design. Sporting BRAVIA Engine 3, Advanced Contrast Enhancer and Intelligent Picture technologies, the S570 Series produces impressive picture performance for quality entertainment. Similar to the other models, the S570 Series incorporates environmentally-friendly functions such as the Eco Settings.
