It has recently come to our attention that a limited number of VAIO S-series personal computers may exhibit the following:

If you own one of these models and experience this symptom, please contact your local VAIO Service Centre. A list of the VAIO Service Centres can be found in the Service Centers page If it is determined that your product is among those affected, Sony will extend your Sony limited warranty on your motherboard for up to 24 months.
For service within the scope of this limited warranty, Sony will repair the unit free-of-charge. All components other than the motherboard will be subject to the standard limited warranty provided with the unit.

The information may be disclosed to the third party subcontractors that operate such service on behalf of Sony, but will be strictly controlled and will not be used for any other purposes.
