How to transfer a playlist created on an older Walkman player to a newer Walkman.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.

You can transfer the playlists by first moving the Music folder from the older Walkman player to the computer temporarily, and then dragging and dropping that same folder to the newer Walkman player.

    Notes:

    • If you transfer music content that is not registered in a playlist, you can delete it after copying the folder to the newer Walkman player, if necessary.
    • Language Study content is not supported.
    • Music content registered in a playlist cannot be stored separately in the player memory and SD card.
    • If the size of the file(s) being transferred is large, it may take several hours to complete the process. If this is the case, you can copy sub-files or folders individually, but be sure to copy all folders and files.
    • If the music content registered in the playlist has not been transferred, it will not be displayed in the playlists of the Music player on the newer Walkman player.

    Before transferring the music content

    • The following Walkman models support transferring a playlist to other Walkman:
      • NW-WM1A, NW-WM1Z
      • DMP-Z1
      • NW-ZX300 Series
      • NW-A30, NW-A40, NW-A50 Series
    • Check the free space on the newer Walkman
Free space equivalent to or larger than the copy source Music folder is required. If there is not enough free space, it is recommended that you prepare a microSD card with the same or larger capacity and transfer it.
    • Check the free space on the computer
Prepare any location that has at least as much free space as the copy source Music folder.
